Has over 30 years of experience in providing patients with state-of-the-art dental care. After completing his post-graduate training in Prosthodontics from Boston University, he worked at his practice in Massachusetts for over 20 years. He was an Assistant Clinical Professor at both Boston University and Tufts University.
After earning his dental degree (DDS) from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Facultad de Odontología, Dr. Maya practiced dentistry in Colombia. After moving to the United States, he was accepted to Boston University’s Goldman School of Graduate Dentistry, where he completed a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Prosthodontics, a Master of Dental Science degree(MScD) and a Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree (DMD). This extensive education has provided Dr. Maya with the knowledge to provide his patients with exceptional care.
Dedicated to remaining on the cutting edge of dental treatments, Dr. Maya has participated in several research studies, and his work has appeared in leading publications. He has been a speaker at national and international meetings, and has attended many continuing-education courses. Dr. Maya has an in-depth understanding of implant techniques, and has received training and certifications from the major implant companies. He is also a member of several professional organizations.
Dr. Maya went above and beyond joining the Army Reserves and was deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005 and then in 2007. He has served our troops dental needs for over 17 years. After relocating to Florida, he wants to share his expertise with our community here in the Keys.
Known for his diversity in surgical procedures and treatments, Dr. Jerry Layne is a board certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon in practice in South Florida since 1996. Dr. Layne offers children, adolescents and adults a range of expanded scope Oral & Maxillofacial surgical procedures. These include orthognathic surgery, facial reconstructive surgery, oral surgery, oral pathology, evaluation and surgery, temporomandibular joint evaluation and surgery, and cosmetic soft tissue treatments. Dr. Layne provides his patients advanced procedures, exceptional medical care and comprehensive follow up care and treatment.
Dr. Layne, a double degree surgeon, received both his Dental (DDS) and Medical (MD) degrees from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He completed his Oral & Maxillofacial training at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Layne then came to Florida in 1995 to complete a Fellowship in Tumor and Reconstructive Surgery with the Oral & Maxillofacial Department of the University Of Miami School Of Medicine.
Dr. Layne throughout his career has been active in local and national professional and civic organizations including past president of the South Florida District Dental Society, past president of the Miami Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons, past representative to the Cancer Control Research and Advisory Council representing the Florida Dental Association, just to name a few. Dr. Layne also enjoys giving back to his profession and to those in need of his professional services. Dr. Layne has provided volunteer oral and facial reconstructive surgery to his local community as well as to improve other countries around the world over the past 20 years.
Dr. Piero Palacios is an accomplished orthodontic specialist whose passion for creating beautiful, healthy smiles has guided his long career. Originally from Nicaragua, Dr. Piero earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and Bachelor of Science from the University Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala before pursuing advanced training in the United States. He completed his Advanced Education in General Dentistry and then a Master’s in Dental Science and Graduate Certificate in Orthodontics at the University of Connecticut Health Center, where he also served as chief resident.
Dr. Piero’s extensive experience includes treating children, teens, and adults with a full spectrum of orthodontic options such as traditional braces, Invisalign®, and multidisciplinary treatment planning. His deep understanding of treatment biomechanics and commitment to individualized care allows him to design effective, efficient treatment plans that enhance both facial balance and long-term oral health.

Dr. Carlos Boada is a skilled endodontist with over two decades of experience, specializing in oral nerve illnesses and treatments such as root canals. Initially pursuing a medical career, Dr. Boada’s path to dentistry began when his university offered him a direct route to dental school. He quickly discovered his passion for helping people through dentistry, leading to his graduation from the Universidad de Bosque in Colombia in 1996. After practicing as a general dentist, he realized that endodontics was an area for growth, prompting him to return to school and refine his expertise.
Driven by a desire to master his craft, Dr. Boada requalified as an endodontist, focusing on the specialized field of treating oral nerve diseases. His career took an international turn when he moved to the United States, facing a challenging requalification process that took him seven years. During this time, he worked as a dental hygienist, eventually completing his residency and national boards to become a licensed endodontist in the U.S. Today, Dr. Boada practices primarily in the Miami area, collaborating with various dental offices to provide expert care.
In recent years, Dr. Boada joined the team at Overseas Dental, where he brings his wealth of experience and specialized knowledge to patients in the Florida Keys. His decision to join Overseas Dental was inspired by the state-of-the-art technology and highly qualified team led by Dr. Maya. By visiting the Keys multiple times a month, Dr. Boada ensures that local residents have access to exceptional specialty care without the need for travel. Outside of work, Dr. Boada enjoys the beach lifestyle and exploring the vibrant culture of the Keys, which he and his family have come to call home.
Dr. Andre Ledoux, DMD is a highly trained oral and maxillofacial surgeon committed to providing safe, comfortable, and compassionate surgical care. Dr. Ledoux earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University and completed advanced training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. During his professional training, he also served as a commissioned officer in the United States Army Reserve, an experience that strengthened his discipline, precision, and focus on patient safety. His surgical background allows him to handle both routine and complex cases with exceptional care and attention to detail.

Dr. Fabiola Ortega is a passionate pediatric dentist specializing in special needs, behavioral management, and cosmetic dentistry for children. She deeply values the trust parents and patients place in her care and strives to make every dental visit a positive and comfortable experience. As a mother herself, Dr. Ortega understands the importance of a child’s first dental encounters and treats each patient with the same care and compassion she would offer her own child, using her ability to connect with young patients to help them feel at ease during treatment.
Dr. Ortega earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology with a minor in Public Health from the University of South Florida before completing her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Howard University. During her time at Howard University, she received several prestigious awards, including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Predoctoral Student Award and the Class of 1962 Ethics Research Paper Award. She then completed her pediatric specialty training at Howard University, providing care at Howard University Hospital and the Hospital for Sick Children Pediatric Center.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Ortega is dedicated to giving back to the community through volunteer work and dental missions. She has volunteered at Special Olympics events, participated in Give Kids a Smile Day, and worked on dental missions to Guatemala. Dr. Ortega has also provided care to underprivileged children through Catholic Charities in Maryland. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, American Association of Women Dentists, and the National Dental Association.

Originally from New York, Dr. Roos completed his dental training and earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree before pursuing an Advanced Training in General Dentistry (ATGD) residency at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. After completing his training, he decided to trade cold winters for sunshine and now proudly calls South Florida home, while still traveling back to New York regularly to spend time with his family.
Dr. Roos truly enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and is passionate about lifelong learning. He is actively involved in continuing education and has completed advanced training in complex restorative dentistry and implant dentistry. He is also a certified Invisalign provider, enabling him to offer patients modern and effective orthodontic treatment options. His focus is always on delivering care at the highest level while tailoring treatment plans to each patient’s unique needs.
Outside the office, Dr. Roos enjoys exercising, spending time outdoors, and dancing salsa in his free time. He is also actively learning Spanish, which allows him to better connect with and care for his diverse patient community.
